Kidmoto’s Founding Story

Kidmoto was founded in 2017 by former Uber driver Nelson Nigel. While still at Uber, Nelson noticed that taxis and car services did not offer age-appropriate pre-installed car seats for kids, and parents were helpless when they needed to ride a cab with their young ones. 

It was worse when they were going to or returning from the airport. They needed to lug their baggage as well as heavy car seats, which is quite cumbersome. Then there are the children to carry as well. It could become quite stressful and tiring.  

Nelson Nigel visualized a mobile app to provide a convenient and safe alternative to lugging car seats to and from airports. That’s how the Kidmoto App was launched. 

Kidmoto solves a real problem in family airport travel: car services do not provide pre-installed child car seats.  The Kidmoto app connects riders with children to drivers that provide rides with child car seats, functioning as a global ride platform.

The Kidmoto App eventually changed how parents travel with small children and today, Kidmoto has become a trusted brand worldwide. Clients love the service that Kidmoto has to offer. It gives them peace of mind that their kids are safely strapped into their car seats during airport transfers.  

Kidmoto’s Mission

In 2025, Kidmoto went global. Nigel believed it was time to expand the company’s services to other cities as well. Kidmoto first opened up to the European market and then later to the Middle East, Australia, and Caribbean markets. Kidmoto is now in the Far East with our launch in Japan’s capital city, Tokyo.
